NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL
(Pursuant to Section 506 and 1526 of Real Property Tax Law)
HEARING OF COMPLAINTS
Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the Town of BENSON, County of Hamilton, State
of New York, as required by Law, has assessed the property in the Town of Benson according
to its condition and ownership the first day of March 2024 and has completed the Tentative
Assessment Roll for the current year and that a copy has been left with Carol Lott, Town Clerk
at the Town Clerk’s Office, where it my be examined by any interested person until the fifth
Wednesday in May, 2024. The assessor will be in attendance with the tentative assessment
roll on Thursday, May 9th, 2024 between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM, Friday, May 10th
between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM, Monday, May 13th between the hours of 5 PM and
9 PM, and Saturday, May 18th between the hours of 1 PM and 5 PM at the Town of WELLS
Community Hall. The Board of Assessment Review will meet on Wednesday, May 29th,
2024 between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM at the TOWN OF BENSON TOWN HALL to hear
and examine all complaints in relation to assessments, on the application of any person
believing himself to be aggrieved. Complaint forms are required to be completed and are
available at the Assessor’s office and the Town Clerk’s office. The Board of Review, according
to Law, can leave your assessment as is, or lower it.
